The NY Times is reporting that about 15% of players didn't solve Puzzle 480 (usually it's 1-2%)

I stared at this thing for so long after line 3 that I had to leave and come back to it

Whatever the one was yesterday-I started it but fell asleep. I had the word "bAsIc" I wanted to use magic next-but knew there was no c, so I shut it off to think about it some more and fell asleep.
It wasn't 480 it was 479

I didn't get it. I gave up. I had the UI in the right place and knew there was an r, but I gave up and typed "apple" at the end because I couldn't figure it out.
