There are some adorable sounding birds in some trees by the light rail station I'm at. One is singing quite well.

Still it's a pity they have to hang around the station instead of getting JOBS.

(You're lucky you have a light rail system, it's rare that American cities/states can get them built these days)

The whippoorwills have returned to my homeland of Northeastern South Canada. They sound nice, but they wake up so early and start chattering that I just wish they would leave again. At least until a more convenient time for me.

This time of year, we have dragonflies the size of small birds who fly and crash right into our windows.

Wow. I would love a picture of that!
I see dragon flys on the boat, like especially when we are standing still. I don't think I could capture a picture of one though.

P.S. My duck pics from earlier-non-impressive. : ( So sad.

There was a water fowl swimming today, but I don't know what it was. I guess I need to find a picture.

Having been a city boy most of my life, I have trouble identifying most birds that aren't dirty pigeons.

There was a guy who came from Chicago to the mountain place I live to be one of the resident artists. (He was a comedian and writer). I remember the look on his face when he got off the bus-He had never been in the middle of such a forest before. Your comment made me think of him and that experience. By the time he left he was doing a sketch with twigs and branches in his hair.
