Have you watched it?
Won some awards. I had it on Netflix so I thought I would give it a go. It is good, and sad.
I watched a different kind of British show with cops in it a while back and I notice something different about the actors. At first it seems weird to me, but then I like it. I couldn't pin point what it was-at first I think the women seem hard, and the guys have more feelings.
And then I was realizing that in American shows there is such a different portrayal of women, but if I compare it to shows like Law and Order then maybe it is similar.
Because I am sure and certain there are British shows where women are portrayed in some stereo typical fashion for laughs and so are guys. So...I am not an expert at this at all of course, but is there anyone out there who has watched a good handful of shows on both sides of the pond to comment on that?

I watched it, and was riveted to it, from a combination of the gripping real time story and the fascination with "how did they do that" with everything looking like it's filmed in one long take per episode.
I'll watch it again someday, but it's so emotionally crushing, it's not something I'll rewatch several times. Plus knowing the ending now, I'd probably watch it more for the "how did they do that" technical side than getting lost in the story again...

I too don't see watching it again, but I am glad I checked it out. It is eye opening. I cannot imagine being a teen in today's world. There is a neighbor here whose teen daughter struggles and its hard to watch and feel powerless.
I also can't imagine the families of these kids. I think I read where they wanted to portray it as a "normal" family on purpose. I think that was a good decision.

I just made it to the end. When I realized it was the ending it was quite something. Wow. I really liked how the family chatted with each other. That was tough.

Yeah, it was so powerful because it was so real, so small, so intimate. And so unexplainable, which is just like half the news headlines we see...
