I have a new baby that is supposed to arrive on Monday. It's a Paul Reed Smith clone from a company called Wolf, with a professional setup from a custom shop in Los Angeles. I can't wait to give this thing a test drive, it looks gorgeous and the videos I've seen of people testing it out are very encouraging. Here's a pic:

As far as sound goes, I am currently using a small practice amp called a Spark. It's not bad. A big plus is it has a lot of effects and different amp models preloaded, so you can get a lot of different sounds without buying a lot of equipment. I'm still in the honeymoon phase with it, so I'll have to share more thoughts after I get to know it better.

These two ukuleles are also part of the collection. The one on the left is Koa wood, which is pretty nice. Sure, these aren't guitars, but they are guitar-adjacent.

Next on the list to share is the acoustic. This is a fairly recent acquisition, and I'm really happy with it so far. It's a D'Angelico. I've never had any of their guitars before, but this one sounds really nice. Plus, it's got some onboard electronics, meaning it has a tuner built in and an output jack to plug into an amp, which is pretty cool. I'm a big fan of the tobacco sunburst color.

Awesome.

I wish I had the hands for playing guitar but my short Irish genes leave me with short pudgy digits.

This is the one I just took into the shop. It's a Carvin DC400. Carvin isn't even a guitar brand anymore, but 20 years ago, this thing was way up high on the list of awesome guitars. It's showing its age, but it still sounds great and plays like a dream.

The new guitar is currently in Middletown, CT. That's all of a 2.5 hour drive away from me. According to Fedex's freight estimator, that means it should be here tomorrow. According to the estimated delivery date based on the tracking number, it's still scheduled for a Monday delivery. I really really want it to show up tomorrow though. I choose to live in the reality where today is the day before my new guitar arrives.

Tomorrow! I will be sure to share pictures. There are a couple others I still need to post here, too. And I need to do a better job getting shots of the Wolf too. I really slacked off here.

My early-70's Silvertone semi-hollow. This was a gift from Mrs. boydster before we got married. Needs some work done, the intonation is off on it and the pots are a little scratchy so those could use a cleaning/replacement. Fretboard needs to be oiled. Just general maintenance kind of stuff.
