Oh I hate biting flies! We've got yellow flies and it hurts when they bite, and then itch like crazy for days. I got attacked by one yesterday, it followed me across the yard

Cooling off today, rain/thunder. It looks like the heatwaves are done for the foreseeable future. We'll see if the long term forecasts are right...

Lots of rain/wind yesterday and overnight (Hurricane Ida) - my neighborhood lost power for about an hour in the middle of the night. I'm just grateful that it didn't last longer than that.

Compared to NYC, we have it easy. NYC and Westchester got POUNDED.
