Also, to answer your previous question about what the captain did-it is easier to talk about now that I have processed it with some of my coworkers. He has basically been going on an ego trip with everybody.

I don't know how to explain what he did, but basically some passengers were late and he pulled the ramp up and I asked the 2nd captain to put the ramp down since they were almost getting ready to board. I just thought the captain misunderstood what was going on. I had no idea he was having a power play and trying to passive/agressive communicate with the customers-
When I asked the 2nd to put the ramp back down the captain came back out and asked why he did that and he said "because Mirah asked me to" and the captain said not once but twice in the course of a few minutes "There is only 1 captain on board"
They made it into some military thing about who has command of the ship....etc etc. So now when I'm asked a question I say stuff like, "Well you better ask the captain"

And one of the other captains heard what happened and they said "This is not the military and if they think it is then they should go work for the military"

Same here.

I have no energy to go to work at the Ruby tonight. No matter how much I nap, rest or eat or prepare for the day it just doesn't feel natural to go to work at 6 PM.

My shift was 4 hours, got done at 10. Tuesday nights are for cleaning the popcorn machine and changing out the posters, so no going home early for me! At least I have tomorrow off.

I hope they appreciate you!

This is the non-busy season now for us. My shifts with the boat company may end in the middle of Oct. I just submitted my interest in still pursuing being a 2nd captain and my interest for next season if I am not continuing throughout the winter.

They do, and ultimately I'm incredibly lucky to have the job I have, but it makes it harder for me to work on life outside of work.

As such I've become a big blob sitting in front of a PC for too many hours of the day.

I need to do better.

I called in at the theater tonight.
Technically I texted in!

Pure exhaustion. Started my shift this morning at 8 and rho it ended at 230 it got warm today ( and yesterday) and I feel dehydrated.
There is no way I can be at the theater tonight until 930 and then start the next day at 7.
And I have a large crowd tomorrow. If it were less than 20 I wouldn't care, but it is around 80 going up and 60 down. It will be a long busy day. I need my rest.
